Prosthodontics – All Ceramic Restoration “Treatment, Planning & Patient Management

Clinicians have access today to a notable array of new technology, tools and materials to utilize in their in increasingly esthetic oriented dental practices. A wide variety of all-ceramic systems have been introduced to offer the dentist and their patients unsurpassed esthetics with clinical performance is marketed as rivaling that of metal-ceramic restorations. These systems are now increasingly reliable and enable cost-effective production of individual crowns. This presentation will review the different commercially available all ceramic systems. Materials will be discussed with respect to design criteria and clinical applications. Numerous treatment situations will be used to illustrate the use of porcelain laminate veneers; all-ceramic inlays, onlays, and partial coverage crowns, and complete coverage all-ceramic crowns.

Nadim Z. Baba, D.M.D., M.S.D.

Dr. Baba received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Montreal School of Dental Medicine in 1996. He completed a combined program of cags in Prosthodontics and master of science in Dentistry/Restorative sciences at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2000 and earned his MSD Degree. He began part-time clinical instructor at Boston University. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 1997. In 2000 he became an assistant Professor at the Saint-Joseph University School of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Sciences in Beirut, Lebanon- Dr. Baba is presently a professor at the Loma Linda School of Dentistry Department of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Baba has authored several textbooks and numerous articles in prostodontics and areas of research. He has received numerous honors and awards. He maintains a private prosthodontic practice in Glendale, CA. Dr. Baba lectures nationally and internationally.
